The Niftian

"The first and greatest victory is to conquer yourself; but to be conquered by yourself is above all things most shameful and vile" -Plato

The Niftian considers himself a geographical mutt, with roots stemming from central Virginia, New York, Kansas and North Carolina. Exposed to hip-hop during the grand Golden Era of rap, The Niftian came up on Rakim, Big Daddy Kane and Biz Markie. It is from this period that he draws his inspiration from. Old in wisdom but young at heart, The Niftian finds himself still holding newer emcees to the standard that he grew up on: tight lyrics steeped in reality, beefs handled on wax, original production with creative samples and emcees willing to put in work to create a brand while having fun at the same time.

The #NiftyWorld movement came about as a result of a series of fortunate events stemming from his pre teen years in Richmond, Virginia. Through those events, his passion for writing was realized, accepted and eventually connected with his passion for all types of music. As time went on, he met other hip hop aficionados in his journeys: Twon Jonson and StayFly in college, the Irish Ninja and Ra'z Al Ghoul in the military. With these like minded individuals, the BITM Collective is on a course toward online domination, spreading the wealth of knowledge of hip hop culture to the masses.

The Niftian's primary focus in the BITM Collective is on unsigned and local talent, and not just in the central Virginia area. Mainstream favorites include Eminem (minus the Encore album), Jay-Z, Mos Def (Yasiin Bey), Andre 3000 and Kendrick Lamar. Indie faves include Masta Ace, Jean Grae, and Childish Gambino.
